Carbon Futures

The impact of climate change and the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme on Australia's South West

Thursday 4 December 2008

Critical Horizons is an opportunity to think about our region’s future in relation to the big issues we face.

This seminar explained climate change and the proposed new Emissions Trading Scheme and its possible affect on the South West.

The South West with its Mediterranean climate and dependency on rainfall is very susceptible to changing climate patterns.

Equally, industry with an export focus including mining makes a significant contribution to the regional economy.

A carbon market will change the way the South West does business. This seminar explored the business implications for the region as the new era of carbon trading unfolds.

A carbon report on the seminar was generated by Greensense in partnership with Critical Horizons to gain a better understanding of where carbon emissions are generated. It provides valuable information to help plan future events which minimise the impact on the environment.
